The Science and Technology Management Information System (STMIS) is a national database developed by the National Science Foundation (NSF) of Sri Lanka. NIFS actively integrates with STMIS to map scientific expertise, research profiles, and laboratory facilities.

NIFS researchers and scientists maintain active profiles in the STMIS directory. This helps national policymakers, universities, and industrial partners identify and connect with subject matter experts in fundamental sciences, nanotechnology, environmental science, and computational modeling.
